I'm at work downloading something on my other mac from Fetch and it's taking its sweet old time. I thought I would write a quick update in here while that transfers.

My sister and father are working on a geneology project. My entire life, I thought I was Swedish and German on my father's side and all Dutch on my mother's side. It turns out that there is this tiny hint (one person) of Belgian on my mother's side. How neat is that? It's sort of shocking in a way too that I always thought one thing, and it turns out I'm wrong! Then again - Belgium and the Netherlands are so close to one another. And I'm presuming country lines have shifted throughout the years as well. So, yeh. I'm now Swedish, German, Dutch and Belgian. Not 50% Dutch anymore. Like, 45.34235% Dutch. Or something like that.

What nationality are you?

Last night I redesigned another site for a client and posted it. I'm pleased with the way it turned out. Tonight I have to do some design work for FIT and get some paperwork in order for graduation at both MSU and FIT. Dave is snowboarding today with his friend, and I hope he has fun! My boss brought in bagels for the office and I snagged one for lunch. Score! It's cinnamon raisin and I'm excited about it.

School begins next week for me. I've been enjoying the break a lot an the thought of going back doesn't excite me the way it used to. I think I'm just over school. I'm finding that there is so much else going on, that it all seems a bit trite, in a way. I'm starting to look for full time jobs and interviewing, and working for clients and that's been keeping me busy! But now to sit in class, not as fun. And I hate that I have that attitude cause I used to be so excited about classes!!

I showed Dave the hat that was super small. He thought it was neat, and since it is so tiny, we're going to give it to his cousin's baby. So frustrating though!

He then asked me if I was going to knit him another one, since he liked it. &@*%!@@#

Of course I want to, I'm just frustrated with it. Ugh.

Fetch blew up. Ugh. Going back to work!

do you do gauge swatches? I never have! I guess you need a bigger needle or to alter the pattern and cast on more stitches...sorry!

I didn't do a gauge swatch cause I used the brand and style yarn the pattern called for, and the size needles it called for! If I had made any replacements or changes, I would have, but I figured the pattern would have been written to fit! Ugh!!! hahaha

supposedly everyone knits differently though so while it may fit for her it didn't for you. although it's weird that it was sooo different!

I know!! Ugh.
OH well.
I just have to find another pattern for him cause I don't know if I want to try the same one again - it had 3 sizes, and I made the medium cause it said the medium was shown in the picture, so .... I don't know if the large would be all that much larger, or would help. Gr.

I looked up the hat you made and a lot of people commented that it came out small or they had to add rows and stuff.

That link you showed is great! I just might have to make that one instead!

And that's funny that I'm not the only one that made it and it turned out too small! I kinda wish I knew about that ahead of time, but at the same time, it was the first time I knit with two colors in a pattern, so it was a good learning experience anyway!

Thanks for your help!!!

My mom is into geneology too. She's traced our family to all over the place. I'm 50% Filipino on my dad's side. And my mom's side I'm Spanish, French, Dutch, Danish, Scandinavian, English, Portugese, German, and Irish.

Family heritage is fun :) I am English, French, German, Norwegian. My boyfriend's family is French-canadian and polish! What a combo! And maybe possibly something else too that I just can't remember offhand.
