Today I published two sites for clients:

JP Holiday and Home Design &

Glen Ridge Cosmetic and Family Dentistry

The first site features the video that I edited of different houses decorated. Very fun.

Dave came over in the evening and he is my hero. My LCD screen on my laptop was acting all funny - when the screen was moved, red lines would appear throughout the screen, and like, move. The colors on the screen were weird, too. I had to design and work with this problem for about 2 months. I researched the issue, found that other laptops of this kind had the same issue, and bought the part on ebay that was recommended. Well, the part came and Dave and I had some down time this evening, so he was able to (take apart my entire laptop and) put in the new piece.

No wonder I keep him around! (That's a joke. He has many other redeeming qualities besides fixing stuff for me. But still...it's a perk)

It was a little strange seeing my $1000 investment in multiple pieces, but whatever. It also occurred to me mid-surgery that I hadn't made a backup of my photos or webs for clients super-recently and that made me a *tad* bit uneasy. I totally trust Dave though, so it was cool. His mother has told me that when he was younger, he would take apart all the electronics in the house to see how they worked, and then put them back together. This also came in handy a while back when I had an issue with my sewing machine - he took apart a few of those in his childhood as well!!

Edit: I should mention in closing my laptop is absolutely perfect now! Yey!

That's so cool. I always admire a person who can fix things, since I'm not so great at it myself. When my brother was younger he had a thing for taking apart flashlights and putting them back together lol.

For some reason on this page http://www.jpholidayandhomedesign.com/about.html it cuts off the body text on the right by about an inch

I use IE7..

hmmm...thanks for letting me know! I have no idea why it would do that, lol but I'd like to fix it if possible. It's only on the about page?? Can you send a screen shot to me if it isn't too hard for you to do? I want to see it...I tested in Ie and Firefox, but not IE 7, and safari and firefox on a mac...are you on a pc or mac?

Sorry, I am a little slow on things this week. I went to go do the screen cap, and went to the page- but, it looks like you have since fixed it! It's all aligned nicely, and centered in the text area now. :)

I'm on a PC.. when I used to do websites I always noticed there were small differences here and there on site appearances between PC's and Mac's, for some reason. Even if they had the same web browser! It was quite odd.

I had checked it on a couple of browsers, but after mentioned it, I checked both IE 7 and Opera - and it was weird on both of them. I then fixed it :) Thanks for letting me know!!
