In my fabrics/conservation lab today, we did a really neat experiment where you decipher what type of dye was used on textiles, using processes to extract colors and all that jazz. Very cool.
For my final project I picked a 1955 Cashin leather skirt and I get to research why it is in the condition it is in (crappy) because of the leather and how it deteriorates.
I really must say that my education at FIT is awesome - we are doing really cool projects and hands-on things that I didn't even know we would be doing! I'm so happy overall with the program! :)

No sewing today. What a crappy day!

I'm now very much into Pattern Review.com and discussing my patterns I've made and looking at what others have made. It's fun!
