Well, I made it through another work week, and today was a pretty decent day. I went shopping with my mother and sister and we ate lunch at Panera, and then hit up Anthropologie. They were having a great sale, and I bought this dress. They had one left - it was a return, and it was a tiny size, a size smaller than I would normally buy, but I tried it on cause I was totally in love with it, and it fit!!!! I also bought an embroidered pullover tunic peasant type blouse that I can't find on the site that is fun. For a few seasons there, I was not thrilled with their selection, and when I went back today, I was much happier.

On Friday, during my internship, I ran errands with my boss to sewing stores for supplies for dressing the mannequins. We stopped in a quilting store by FIT, and I instantly fell in love with the printed cottons. I bought myself an Amy Butler purse pattern and some fabric that I fell in love with there (that I have seen previously on reprodepot.com!) I thought that I would have been able to work on that today, but it didn't happen. However, I did finish putting some recent photos in my album which is a good thing.

Dave and I watched 'Happy Feet' last night which was cute, but I was worried about the fate of all the little penguins throughout the entire movie. Kids' movies are just too rough for me, man.

This afternoon I also managed to clean out my closet with my mother. I thought that having a walk in closet after the construction would make my life cleaner and more organized and that it would stay that way. It didn't. I went through each section - skirts, blouses, sweater, tees, tanks, shoes - everything!

There was a season in high school (my junior year?) That Express put out a LOT of purple items - or I just happened to buy all their purple things at that time. I had a knit sleevelees shell, a button up sweater, a sleeveless turtleneck, a sphagetti strap tank, a formal tafetta long skirt, and a short net skirt with flower appliques all in the same purple collection. I kept the tafetta skirt and the tank, and nothing else. I think I have purged my closet of all that purple for good!! I did have to throw out one pair of uggs and my all time favorite pair of lime green mocassins - they were both just completely gross. And I'm very sad.

I also realized that the things I was throwing out were all good brands - and that's depressing. I had a fabulous anthropologie skirt that I wore to work one day, and it was raining, and I wore flip flops, and I "flip flopped" mud all across the back of it. So I put it in the washing machine, whereupon all the red lining and piping at the pockets and decorative bows dyed all the surrounding fabric areas. I kept it and wore it a few times after that (maybe?) but looking at it today, it's just bad. And that really depressed me too. Boo.

I also found some things that I had forgotten that I had. That's always a pleasant surprise!

I AM OBSESSED WITH PURPLE so I wish instead of throwing that stuff out, you'd ship it to me!!!!

Happy Feet made me worried, too. I liked parts of it, but it got weird toward the end. Mumble is too cute for me to decide not to like the movie.

i had a ringer tee with red bands on a white body that bled like that too, and i thought it was toast, but i ran it through another cycle with bleach and the extra dye all came right back out (even though i dried it before). might be worth a shot...

anthropologie is such a great store. I bought the most amazing dress there that was originally $168 for $12. And the only thing wrong with it was a broken zipper, which was a piece of cake to fix! That is my most proud moment shopping at that store.

The Store
Do you remember the name of the store you visited near FIT? I work near that area and I am always looking for new stores to visit.
