Today was an incredibly long and busy day, but I did get a lot accomplished!

I went over to FIT super early to do fiber identification and photography on some of my upcoming projects. I did fiber ID on a bleaching project on picot lacework (cotton and rayon with silk thread!) and photographed it, and did some photography on the 1920's white beaded dress. I also sketched an 18th Century men's jacket (with beautiful embroidery) and an 18th Century waist cincher (not a corset per say, but rather a boned vest type thing that was worn over a dress). Those sketches will go in my final portfolio for the class. The sketches have to include all measurements, seams and folded edges in the garment, and how it was constructed. It's actually really neat!

I met up with Jenn for lunch. I took her out for her birthday to a great restaurant near FIT and I gave her the Pottery Barn jewelry box. She seemed to really like it which made me happy! (It was so heavy to carry through the city!!!)

In the evening, I viewed magazines from the 1880's looking for a particular accessories designer, and didn't have a lot of luck. I'm going to try again another time and see if I find any more information that is better for my research. I hope so!!

Dave is out with some friends seeing Superbad again. I don't think I'd be able to sit through it again!!!

I'm so proud of myself for accomplishing so much today! That means that there won't be as big of a 'mad rush' at the end of the semester - or let me rephrase that - there will still probably be a 'mad rush' - but at least I have attempted work on my projects!!!
