It's my day off - I'm still in what I wore to bed. I'm on page 313 of the Flash lessons, and things are going along well! I may still be naive, but it appears that this whole flash thing isn't thattttt complicated. Or, it is, but at least I'm understanding the lessons so far! I'm on Chapter 8! Woohoo!

I've also done a lot of knitting for Dave's hat. The wave pattern is almost completed - I have two more rounds of that to do. Then I can quickly finish up the rest of it.

I should also finish my fashion design final project cause it's due in, um, a day or so. Not fun.

I can't wait to see the completed hat! There's a similar pattern in the new Son of a Stitch 'n Bitch book that I'm thinking about doing for Nick, but I've never done patterned color work like that before.

And congrats on your progress with Flash! I've always wanted to learn it but I've never done more than very simple animations. Out of curiosity, what book are you using? & would your recommend it?

The hat is so much fun! I'm finished with the wave pattern now, and just working on making it smaller as it gets to the crown. I'm planning on giving it to him for Valentine's Day and it appears that I will be finished with it by then!

The flash book I am using is Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Hands on Training with CD. It's orange. It just happened to be the book that Dave had on his bookshelf and I thought it would work. I am happy with the lessons, and so far, it appears as if I am understanding it. I have to make a flash intro for a client too (HAVE is a strong word...I'd like to based on what they say they want) and I'm fairly confident that I will be able to do what I have in my head.
I'm also still in the midst of simple animations, but it is making sense to me!

I also have Seybold Flash 2004 Complete Course cause it was also on Dave's bookshelf. I might do that one as well.

In college, I took a computer graphis course and we used books like these for Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop and they worked for that as well.
