What a week this has been!
I spent one day worrying about a lump in my back, but that ending up fine. It's just scar tissue on a muscle.

I received a new client on Monday, a church, and have designed and published the site. I am just awaiting final approval and then it will go live! It was a lot of fun to design, and it makes me happy!

I went back to school this week, and it reminded me how busy and active FIT and NYC are. My classes seem great, but I am already spending time finishing up papers and doing a lot of reading. I don't mind readings, but there are a lot! I have a paper and presentation due next week (the presentation is a carry-over from last semestser) and I would like to finish them up asap.

My paper is on fiber artist Stephen Beal. This article on him is really neat. That piece was at the museum we visited as well. This page includes links to his poems on various DMC colors. (Jess - read them, you'll like them. It's fun!)

My personal server and the server I use for my freelance design business also decided to implode. We now have a brandy new dedicated server and I have spent a lot of time remaking accounts and transferring a lot of files. All is well now, with the exception of one or two things, but hopefully that will be fixed soon too.

I have started a new job at an art gallery and that is great as well.

Project Runway was not on last night, and I couldn't figure out why! Sucks.

Today is February 1st, so I adopted the Webkinz Pet of the Month, the cow. Fun times.

Also, since it is the 1st of the month, I will give an update of my 101 in 1001:

37. An old goal already accomplished, but I have used my new sewing machine to successfully make a pair of boxers for Dave! (Victoria - picture is coming soon, my camera batteries are charging as I write this!)

67. I did reply to a job on Craig's List and did interview and took a test and apparently did well, and have been in contact - it's to do more work freelance-style with a creative organization. So, completed!!

93. I did not redesign Roxydoll12.com, but I don't know if I will - it may just disappear one day. However, I did redesign Tri-Star Design, which at this point, is more important as I get more clients.

9. My tuition, in total, for my MSU and FIT master's degrees is completely paid for. I wrote the last check yesterday. However, there are still expenses associated with going to school are still coming in - I spent about $75 on the first day back - $6 for train, $10 to refill my Metrocard (which then took out double fare on one of the subway rides, grrrr.), $7 to museum admission, $30 to buy exhibition catalog to help me write paper that is worth 20% of my grade, $10 dinner with my FIT friends...crazy. But, the tuition part is over with. Woohoo. Now I can work on goal #49, the whole having $20,000 in savings now that tuition is paid for.

45. I went to the Guggenheim at the end of November. I don't know if I did an update last month...

3. My MSU internship is over - I have a grade, and it's complete on my transcript. Woohoo!

102. I'm starting to learn flash. I have a client that ultimately wants a flash opening, so that is enticing me to become great at it!

103. I knit a hat for Dave - ableit too small, but I did do it.

108. I took Fashion Design, and undergrad FIT class, for fun over Winterim break.

110. An old friend, Dan, is a fireman in a nearby town, and I designed a site for them: LFFD.org

Not too shabby. I'm working on finalizing ideas for my thesis for FIT and thesis for MSU. That is the next major accomplishment occurring in my life.

Today I received a check in the mail for sewing/educational planning work I had done for the Metropolitan Museum of Art - Cloisters - as part of an FIT project. We designed educational kits for children visitors to the museum, which included the construction of tabbard costumes and velcro coat of arms elements. Quite fun. And it made me happy to be a real paid person from the Met - very cool. So that made me smile.

This weekend I have an AIX alumni reunion, I am getting my hair highlighted, Dave and I have a SuperBowl party to attend and I am meeting with another new client about a site. I also HAVE to get somewhere on my homework and reading materials, along with some other freelance web work. Busy, busy!

Edit. In doing more research for my Modern Textiles paper, I found this blog. Perfect eye candy and ideas for me, as a web designer! Take a look!
