Dave stopped over this evening and I made him dinner, and drank hot cocoa with him while he ate. He rubbed my back cause it hurts (I have fibrosis scar tissue, or something along those lines, that sporadically kills. I'm sure I've mentioned it before - it's an old dance injury from when I was dancing every night in professional theatre. Not cool. He also hooked up my heating pad - score!)

I worked on the dress a while too, and basically finished the entire lining. The dress is composed in two parts - the lining is a slip, that is worn under (duh) since the dress is made of a fabric that is see-through. I really enjoyed creating the slip/lining dress since I made French seams instead of just serging them, and the straps and neck/upper back of the dress are made of binding. I had never binded anything, made spaghetti straps, or sewed with French seams. So, it was nice to try out new techniques and I'm pleased with the way it turned out. Tommorow if I have time I can hem it, and then get to work on the actual dress!

Last night, Tuffy bled ALL OVER. He has this skin flap growth thing on his arm (he's 12 - things happen) and it appears he hit it on something, and it just bled. I put a bandaid on him, after realizing there were large sections of blood on my family room tan microsuede sofa. Ugh. I spent a lot of time cleaning it (and the funny thing is, this morning, there was some still there, and he LICKED it. And, as your mother always told you, spit cleans everything, especially blood stains - my teacher at FIT told us this as well - and sure enough, the bits of blood that I didn't get out were removed by his slobber. Good dog.)

But yeh - poor Tuffy. He'll be fine obviously, but it was kinda nasty.

Speaking of NASTY...

I was in the kitchen today, and Charley was outside. My mom was telling me that he has a really bad underbite, and I wanted to see it. I call him, and he comes running to the patio French doors. I pick up the dog, and his paws have brown 'stuff' all over them. As I pick him up, he sorta swats, and his front right foot lands IN MY MOUTH. Now, I'm HOPING that the 'brown stuff' was just dirt, but I'm not 100% convinced - and it totally ALL LANDED IN MY MOUTH. I just started spitting all over the kitchen floor, and my mom was like, "What are you doing?" And then she realized...and just LAUGHED. It was horrendous. Ugh, dirty dog.

I wrote another section on my MSU thesis. I'm compiling data about theatres in NJ, and I'm trying to write at least a page on each theatre. Today, I wrote more than a page each on two different theatres. So, I'm basically on target, but of course I should be writing more than two theatres a day. But, at least I'm getting somewhere!

Also, I contacted a producer at one of the theatres I used to dance for a lot about this paper, and she responded immediately. I was thrilled! She then also wrote me a personal e-mail, offering me a job for an upcoming event. Sweet deal! I always got along with her really well, and she was a lot of fun to be around. So today, not only did she help my paper along immensely (I really needed this theatre as a comparison) she got me a paid gig in performing. Love it. I'm excited!

I know how you feel about the thesis...I am writing my paper for colloquium which is about 50 pages :(
Aren't you doing two theses though, one for each school? I can never keep up with everyone! Hehe.

Yup - I have two. I want to get them both finished by May. The FIT one, I have an extension on while still graduating - so that one doesn't have as much pressure on me. But, I do want to finish both!
