Oh my. Yesterday was terrible.

After I finished helping my dad clean the leaves and extra water off the pool cover, the most terrible thing happened - my hands swelled. Like, massive allergic reaction to something that was in the water. Mold? Mildew? Mosquito larvae? It was horrible. So my mom gave me a double dose of Benadryl, which then KNOCKED ME OUT for hours. Dave woke me up, and I went off to his family's Syrian Good Friday dinner in a Juicy Couture velour jumpsuit, with no make-up, and drugged.

Ugh. I had plans to either work on my paper or sew my dress after working on the pool, but my hands were so terrible that I wouldn't have been able to type or sew! I could barely go to the bathroom on my own! hahahaha Dave had to help me in and out of my jacket.

After the Good Friday dinner, we went back to Dave's and I fell asleep. Again.

He drove me home (I was so groggy, I couldn't drive...) and I took more Benadryl and passed out.

This morning, I woke up super early and my hands were still puffy, but going down.

Alyson and I each presented papers in NYC. She is a member of a Communication Association, and we both submitted papers, and they each got accepted. So, it's good to be 'published' and good for my 'academic career' but I was really in no mood. And, I drove both ways since I know my way around the city better - I didn't even realize how well I knew my way around, but I was able to figure out exactly where we were going and how to find the tunnel home and whatnot. Not that it's that hard since it's a grid, but whatever...

Even typing this now, my hands hurt. The swelling is mostly down, but they are still slightly swollen.

After we got back from the city, my sister, mom and I went and did shopping. I only bought pound cake mix from Williams Sonoma and my mom bought me a shirt from Anthropologie on super duper sale.

Easter basket time. My mom loves us.

Yikes! I'm curious to know what caused that reaction!! Glad the swelling is coming down though! AND congrats on the being published!
