Yesterday after shopping, Dave came over and we ended up watching parts of Big Daddy, 13 going on 30 and Marie Antoinette, after I made him dinner (cereal, ha!

This morning, I woke up at about 9:30 and Alyson came over. She, my mom and I were talking about Webkinz day yesterday and the purchases I got from shopping. We then started to go through my closet, and noticed that I am severely lacking dress pants/work pants - I had no black pants, no khaki pants, and only a few pairs of pants that would be suitable if I had a full time job. Granted, I have a TON of clothing. However, I didn't have staples. I also didn't have any more white shirts to just wear throughout summer - my white shirts had gotten stains on them and the armpits were funny.

So, the three of us set out for another shopping trip - to the same place my mom and I were yesterday. And we did a lot of shopping! It was kinda sucky in a way cause I spent more money than I would have liked, but it wasn't on pieces that I looked at and went "WOW!" - it was more on pieces that were absolutely necessary and is fairly embarassing that I didn't have them in the first place!

At Banana Republic, I bought a pair of white jeans, a pair of beige and white seersucker summer pants, a pair of blue/grey plaid trousers, a pair of basic khakis and a 3/4 sleeve jersey shirt in purple with gathers under the best and a very cool cowl neckline - oh! and a pair of dangle turqoise earrings (that came out to $10) Most of the pieces I bought were already on sale and I had a 15% off total order coupon, so I did VERY well.

At Victoria's Secret, I bought a silver bra. Alyson gave me a coupon for $10 off the purchase of any bra and a free panty, so that was a pretty sweet deal.

I bought Dave's mother a box of Cookies and Cream pound cake mix for Mother's Day from Williams Sonoma. I figured it would be a nice token of appreciation since she does a lot for me.

At the Hallmark store, I bought a Kangaroo Webkinz and got a free grey Arabian pony Webkinz. Gotta love Webkinz weekend.

At Pottery Barn, I bought 4 napkin holder rings - as metal snails! They were on a super sale, and I just thought they were the cutest things ever. I will keep them in the townhouse cause they match the decor there, and who knows how often I will use them, but they were super cute and if I ever do host a dinner party, I will have them!!

At the Gap, my mom bought me a yellow 3/4 sleeve jacket/shirt with really cool pleating details. I then bought three white summer shirts - a scoop neck, a shirt with gathers at the neck, and a v-neck with a tie at the hip. I figure that all three will work well and blend with all of the items I currently have in my closet (like, they will all work with the pants I bought, and my summer skirts and whatnot)

So, yeh. Big shopping day.

Since I am a big believer in "bring something in, must get rid of something you currently have" so the house doesn't get overrun with crap, my mom and sister then helped me go through my closet. Wow. What a job. My closet is already super organized and items are categorized by sections - on bar is blazers and jackets, one bar is tops on hangers, one bar is skirts, on shelf is 3/4 pants, I have a pull out rack of pants, and then there are multiple drawers for shirt (organized by tanks, tees, Michael Stars tees, long sleeved shirts, and sweaters) and then shelves of chunky sweaters on top, it was a big project. I also had a stack of sweaters in the cedar closet that never actually made it to my real closet this winter. Oops.

So, we went through most of the sections, and I tried on basically EVERY item in the closet. I removed many pairs of pants, sweaters and tops. It was wonderful. I definitely cleaned out more objects than what came in, which was basically my goal. I also now know where everything is located. I had forgotten about some of the items I found, and put them in more prominent places. My mom also helped me rearranged items on shelves/drawers and grouped them to make even more sense. I'm so excited, hahaha.

Normally when I buy clothes, I'll fall in love with one item because it's "beautiful" and I "have to have it" and will not pay attention to price, but will buy less if it's pricey, etc. However, this was a basics trip. No fun, but necessary. Now, I have clothing that can be worn for a full-time job. I guess that's what happens when you graduate and have to enter the "real world."

If anyone is interested in any of the items that I am no longer keeping, let me know. Off the top of my head, some of the items are:

this shirt Hollister, a medium? small?

this shirt too Hollister, small?

another view of yellow/orange shirt

Abercrombie yellow cable wool sweater, Large Although, I must say it isn't a very large "large".

Those are all the pictures I can find quickly. Also, Express 3/4 pants in black, xoxo red ribbed turtleneck with 3/4 sleeves, gap 3/4 length blue satin pants in a 4, bebe black t-shirt with bebe in rhinestones across chest (a medium, maybe?) and some other things that I really can't remember off the top of my head. If anyone is interested, let me know. I really don't expect payment for these items, just money to cover shipping if anyone would like any of it. Most items are "lovingly worn" - but still in decent condition. If you want more pictures/details, comment with your e-mail and let me know what you'd like!

I'm at Dave's now. We just finished watching Juno and he's playing the guitar while I type.

Edit: I just checked my banking online and it turns out my tax refund came through! Sweet!

Baby Molly! Aww, she looks so, um, pathetic, there. :)

I had so much fun shopping with you and mom today. :) Now if only my closet was as large as yours! So jealous! Remind me why I got married again. ;)

I'm interested in the gap pants and the express pants...but it's hard to know if we're close to the same size! hmm...

Here are some pictures:

The black Express pants are a 5/6. They are worn more than the blue ones, and you can see some 'iron marks' (the metal mesh of the ironing board is sorta embedded in the fabric) However, it isn't noticable when on.

The blue gap ones are basically pristine. I only wore them a handful of times. They are a gap 4. They are pleated, but obviously need to be re-ironed. The fabric is actually pretty good quality - better quality than gap items today.

Let me know if you're still interested - I can then find out the price at the post office and I'll give you my address for a check then. :)

Ooh, I really like the blue ones. I don't think I have much to match them with though. I'm going to think about it. If anyone else wants to snatch them before me, they can have them. :)
