Today was Michelle's shower, and my mom and I went. I won so many things, just like at Lisa's! It's kinda funny!

The take home souvenir was a pot holder that was filled with a chocolate lollipop and a nest with chocolate eggs. The first 'door prize' was if your lollipop had a white ribbon- and my mother's did. So, she won a pair of earrings (other options were wine and Yankee candles, but other people picked them - the earrings are beautiful!)

Then there was a game that had pictures of birds, and you had to guess what type of bird each was. It wasn't a game for prizes, but it was fun. Then, they gave out blank bingo sheets, and you had to fill the bingo board in with gifts that you thought Michelle would receive. I got bingo really early on (I've never been so excited to see pyrex! haha) For that, I won a scratch off lotto ticket. Then my mom won bingo too and also got a lotto ticket. (Neither of us won money, boo...haha)

Then, they handed out the cupcakes that I have pictures of below. My cupcake had white eggs and my mom's had pink. We didn't think anything of it, but all the other cupcakes had purple -so again we each won a pair of earrings!

As Michelle opened all her gifts, there was a timer that was ticking. If the timer went off while Michelle was opening the gift you brought, you got a gift certificate or large lotto scratch off ticket. Well, guess what? The timer went off when she was opening my gift! (I bought Michelle and Lisa each lingerie from Bloomingdale's for their showers, since I did all my shopping together. They're both pretty!)

So from the timer game, I won a $10 gift certificate to Barnes and Noble. Wow. Lots of games, lots of winning!!

The whole shower was pastel-y bird themed. Michelle LOVES birds, and it was really pretty. Her cousin Kristin made the cupcakes and cake, and it was all beautiful. Each table had a bird statue on it as well. The room looked really nice.

Me and my mom at the shower today

And here are pictures from the Tricky Tray on Friday night to benefit the Animal Shelter in my city. We had an entire table for my family, and some spillover - Dave, me, Thorsten, Michelle, Mrs. Blackowski, my mom, my dad, Alyson, Jim and Aunt Betty all went.

My mom with the dog grooming gift certificate she won, with a dog toy

My dad with his winnings - Titanic DVD and a book on the Titanic

Alyson with one of her big prizes - Margaritaville party in a bucket!! She also won free dog obedience classes for her wayward twins! She was the big winner of the night.

Michelle with the restaurant gift certificate she won.

So, it's been a really busy weekend. Saturday morning I got lost in Brooklyn, then made it home around 12:30. Ugh.

In the afternoon, I helped Alyson clean. Then, I went to Dave's and he made me carne asada steak on the grill, while I made brussel sprouts, cabbage and rice. He also had these really yummy date cocount things for dessert. Yummy.

I then went to join my mother at a show that my friends Mark and John were in. So that was nice too.

Today was the shower, and now I should do more homework. I'm almost finished with the semester, I can't wait!!

great pictures! so funny you asked me who you looked like - i was quickly reading through my entries yesterday before you commented and i was thinking, "i don't think she looks like EITHER parent!" i can tell you are related, especially to Alyson...but i think Alyson looks more like your dad. what do people usually say?
