This morning was busy, busy!

I went to the DMV and got my car inspected, and renewed my license. I was worried that this would take hours - but to do both - took exactly 1 hour. I'm so happy. Plus, my car passed inspection(there really is no reason that it wouldn't) so I don't have any follow-up from that. And, I have a "big girl license." In the state of NJ, you get your license when you are 17 (it may be 18 now - 17 is provisional license - but I got it when I was 17) and then at 21, you get another license proving you are 21. NJ changed the look of the license when I was 21 - making them digital/not a polaroid, etc etc. With the new digital license, under 21 the day you got the picture taken meant your license was vertical. Over 21, is horizontal - like a credit card. I got my license on my 17th birthday - making it expire on my 21st birthday. I got my license renewed before it expired (duh) making me only 20 and like, 350 days old when I took the new picture for the new license. So, I got a vertical license. And never wanted to go back to the DMV to wait after I turned 21 to get the normal horizontal license. But now, since I'm 24 (and ahead of things - it wouldn't expire until September 12th) I have the regular, horizontal "big girl license."

However, for the past 4 years, it has been funny going to bars, cause all of the bouncers would look at it like I was crazy. It "proves" you're under 21. And I was then over 21 - 22, 23, 24. No more license which is a topic of conversation. Ok by me! The picture is actually pretty cute too.

I then went home (I had off from work today) to do a TON of web work. I finalized a proposal, and a proposed layout. I worked on another layout. I did more updates. I did a lot of billing. Good day!

This weekend is going to be busy as well. Can't wait!

weird, I've never heard of that! for me it was that they took your picture facing to the side. so a profile shot for under 21.

My original 17 year old license was like that - the NJ profile. Then, at 21, instead of just facing front, the changed to the whole digital vertical/horizontal thing.

I have the same problem with my license! It's kind of annoying, really. In New Hampshire we get a red box around our face instead of the difference in layout (vertical, horizontal).
