Thank you so much for all of your comments both here and on facebook. It makes me so happy to see that so many people were sending Tuffy good wishes!

He's is doing fairly well - pretty good considering he just had major surgery! Overnight, he was a bit stressed and in pain, but settled back down and fell asleep. I woke up this morning, gave him his pain medicine - and found the un-swallowed pain pill from last night in his bedding. My little man went the entire night WITHOUT his pain medicine. I was horrified - and I feel so badly, but I really thought he took it down last night and was so shocked to see it was there, with the peanut butter licked off. He is usually really good with medicine, so I just don't get it. However, he is also on a homeopathic liquid herbal pain medicine that I also gave him last night, so at least that was in his system! This morning I watched him like a hawk as I gave him the pill and also gave him the homeopathic liquid.

His back legs appear to be a little weak, and he isn't standing up fully. I wonder if that is from the pain? We'll see if anything changes on that in the next few days. Also, he isn't "not hungry" but he isn't "hungry." He is eating some food, and eating enough that he'll be "ok" but I wish he would eat with a little bit more gusto.

Other than that, he is alert and barks if you leave the room. (Not "I'm in pain" - but "Get over here and keep me company") That is his total normal self and what he has been doing for years. He's an annoying, feisty dog, and that is why I love him!

I was so scared that he wouldn't make it through the surgery. The next few days are crucial too in keeping away infection and just getting him to eat and heal, but I feel we are past the worst. He's chipper and with it, and with the tumor gone, he must be more comfortable and able to "function" better - less weight, less blood having to pump there, etc.

Lots going on at work all of a sudden...I'll write more later.

Thanks again for all your concern, good thoughts and prayers! Tuffy sends hugs and wet kisses to all of you! It means so much to me!
