New room pictures!!

Finally, I finished all the painting (except some touch up to the ceiling, but I'm not counting that!) and set up my room for real!

I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. The main inspiration/theme is vintage florals and spring, with pink, yellow and orange accents to the blue walls. The space is quite large, and I like how there is enough furniture so that it doesn't look empty, but not too much where it is overcrowded. I sorta wanted the room to look like Anthropologie does, but not as dark and heavy...having light flooring. Oooh! The flooring! It's white wood pergo (not real wood...so Tuffy can eat on it and it won't get ruined!) with random painted flowers on some boards. Very cool. My sister had that put in years ago, and it's still in perfect condition and works great with the color scheme I chose.

The view from the doorway where you first walk into the room

When you walk in, to the left, there is a small table with a pink silk tablecloth and on top of that is a floral embroidered table topper that my parents got as a wedding gift. My mosaic tile chair is at the table, with a pink silk Anthropologie pillow. (I bought a ton of eclectic/mix of/funky/different pillows from Anthropologie and Pier 1. You'll see them throughout the room) My Anthropologie rose mirror is behind the table. The crap on the floor to the right is a basket of magazines that I need to go through and recycle, a basket of toys for Tuffy, his water bowl, and a giraffe plant stand that has no plant on it at the moment.

View from the far end of the room looking towards the door. The furniture is my sister's childhood Ethan Allen set, which is pretty neat. I had a similar set in dark wood in my old room. The desk is a corner desk (where the laptop is) and it has shelves for picture frames and figurines and stuff. Next to the corner desk is a dressing table with lift top mirror. My computer chair is my Pier 1 woven bench from my old room, with a pillow on it to lean on as I spend most of my time at this desk and curved benches aren't the most comfortable...

The built-in, window seat wall. I wanted the back walls of the built-ins to pop out, so I chose a Behr pre-determined Home Depot color palette of paint chips that had four colors - the baby blue of the wall, white cream with a *teeny tiny baby hint* of brownish, dark blue for the recess of the built-ins, and the light green of the bench, which you can barely see under all the pillows. I bought lots of baskets at Pier 1 (some of them at 40% off!) an have categorized all my crap in attractive baskets - bills, cds, old tapes, scrapbooking stuff, Game cube and games, more magazines, etc. In the closet, there are more baskets for belts and stuff like that. The rest of the shelves are filled with my books, mostly Art History from my classes and favorite paperbacks.

Clearer look at the furniture wall. The rug is an early birthday gift from my mom. It was from this great boutique by our shore house, and I have admired it for at least 2 summers now. I alwyas tried to go in and sneak a picture of it (there is actually one on my cell phone now from the trip with Gina and Stephanie!) because I loved it so much, but it would be weird if anyone saw me snapping away pictures of rugs. It's so pretty, and I adore it. So does Tuffy - great...he eats his milk bone biscuit on it daily. Grrrreat.... I also think it's sad that I'm getting older - a rug for my bedroom quite excites me as my sole birthday gift on my 22nd birthday...what happened to my longing for Tiffany jewelry and new clothing?!?
The flowers in the glass vase are my bouquet from Alyson's wedding.

I just realized, at the foot of my bed, there are dressers with my tv, alarm clock, jewelry box and a vase with bead flowers on it, but I seemed to not get a picture of that. Oops. Imagine it...haha.

So...I have moved in, and my new room is decorated and complete. Eureka!

I remember seeing pictures a million years ago when it was Alyson's! hee. I always liked the floor with the flowers and the furniture, built in bookcases, window seat, etc. Plus, I have to be jealous, that's about 3457x bigger than my room :P hah.
